Carol Joyce (Swadling) McNish

Caroll Joyce  McNish, age 82 of Fostoria passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.  Caroll was born December 12, 1934, the daughter of the late Guy Edgar and Cassie Beth (Hutchins) Swadling. 

On June 4, 1954 she married her High School sweet heart William McNish in Lapeer, Michigan.  Carroll grew up on the homestead farm where she resided most of her life.  She graduated from North Branch High School in 1954. Caroll was a gifted and talented person and mastered everything she set her mind to do.  She enjoyed gardening, quilting, sewing, oil painting, and cooking.  She especially enjoyed her family and surrounded herself with family and friends.  Caroll was the ultimate hostess and caretaker.  She was a devoted Christian and her greatest desire was that everyone she loved would know her Savior.

Caroll is survived by her husband, William McNish; daughter, Lucinda (Steven) Kujacznski of Three Rivers; sons, Gregory McNish of Fostoria and Vincent (Kimberlie) McNish of Fostoria; sister, Katherine (Alfred) Andersen of Fostoria; 9 grandchildren;  9 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; great-granddaughter, Ellie Grace; sister, Loretta; brothers, Charles, Maurice, Stanley, and Carl.

The family will be present for visitation on Friday, April 14, 2017 from 3 to 8 PM at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home, North Branch.  On Saturday, April 15, 2017 Caroll will lie in state from 10 to 11 AM with the Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 AM at Sweet School Chapel in Columbiaville.  Burial will be in Deerfield Cemetery, Fostoria with Pastor Bob Lott officiating.
